Too Faced Palette Review Extravaganza!

Before I get into the review, I just have a quick announcement. You may notice that the site looks different - it's been completely redesigned! I hope you like it.

I have something super exciting to talk about today - Too Faced palettes which I've just purchased! One is an eyeshadow palette, Boudoir Eyes, and one is a face palette, No Makeup Makeup. They're all so beautiful that I couldn't resist any of them!

So, which palette do you need? What are they like? Which one is the best?  Read on and let's get started!
Can we just take a minute to appreciate the packaging of the palettes? It's truly gorgeous. All of the product is housed in a compact, easy-to-store tin with a metal closure. It feels durable without being heavy or large. Each tin is adorned with beautiful detailing. Inside, both palettes come with an instructional how-to fold out card, and a fair sized mirror hidden beneath that.

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes (packaging)

From left to right, shadows are: In The Buff, Fuzzy Handcuffs, Voulez-Vous, Satin Sheets, Sugar Walls, Garter Belt, Birthday Suit, Lap Dance, French Tickler

As you can see, each eyeshadow palette comes with nine different shades. Too Faced usually separates their eye palettes into three looks, Day, Classic, and Fashion, and they've done that here as well. Of course, you don't have to follow their recommendations and you can pair the shades however you want. I think it's a nice way to help out beginners who might be unsure about which colours to use, or anyone who needs a little inspiration.

I'll also mention that the formula of these eye shadows is wonderful. While I haven't had the chance to fully test out these palettes yet, I've used Too Faced shadows in the past and these have a very similar feel. They're a little powdery and not overly creamy, but they still manage to refrain from being chalky or dusty. They apply easily and I experience little to no fallout with them, which is wonderful. Even the lightest shades are heavily pigmented, and I didn't have any problems applying any of the mattes shades either.

For the first colour in each look, we're given a larger pan of shadow. I love that Too Faced recognizes that these will be the first to get used up, as they're so versatile and can be used to highlight the brow bone, inner corner, or to apply all over the lid. In The Buff is a creamy matte off-white that can be used for just about anything. It's one of the nicest mattes I've tried in a while as it's not chalky and it's very pigmented. Satin Sheets is a shimmering light pink. The glitter is extremely fine and the texture of the shade is wonderful. And Birthday Suit is a gorgeous, taupey mauve that's not afraid to sparkle. I think that this colour is extremely unique and would be universally flattering.

Lap Dance, French Tickler

If you haven't yet noticed, Too Faced seems keen on joining Urban Decay with it's slightly racy shadow names! Here we see the rest of the shades in the palette. Fuzzy Handcuffs is a creamy, matte light peach. Voulez-Vous is a shimmering smoked purple. Sugar Walls is one of my favourite shades, as it's a glittery soft pink. Garter Belt is a matte taupe that's excellent for blending. Lap Dance is a shimmery silver-grey, and French Tickler is black with silver glitter.

Here's the palette's unique Glamour Guide!

Each palette features photos of the three suggested looks.

Now let's move on to the second palette: Too Faced No Makeup Makeup!

From left to right: Bronzing Veil, Creme Blush, Blush, Conceal, Luminize, Brighten

This palette is designed to create an extremely natural, fresh-faced look. Want everyone to think that you got out of bed looking gorgeous, without using too many products or having an 'obvious' makeup look? No Makeup Makeup is here to save the day.

From left to right, Bronzing Veil, Creme Blush, Blush

The first products featured in this palette are the bronzing veil, creme blush, and powder blush. The bronzing veil is not something I'd use as a traditional bronzer, as it's quite shimmery and light. But it makes an absolutely beautiful highlighter that you can dust on your cheekbones, across your forehead, and down your nose. The creme blush is a classic, bubblegum pink that works to create a natural-looking flush on your cheeks. And the powder blush looks extremely bright in the pan, but when applied correctly, looks naturally vibrant. Just make sure that you don't overdo it.

From top to bottom: Conceal, Luminize, Brighten

Next we're given a concealer, a cream highlighter, and a brightener. The concealer is creamy and excellent for covering up darkness, red marks, veins, etc. The only downside is that if it doesn't match your skin tone, there's not much you can do, as the palette only comes in one shade. Fortunately it does match me, and I really like it. The luminizer is not something I'd use every day, but it works well to brighten your cheekbones. The colour is a soft, shimmery pink. And the brightener is wonderful for using under your eyes or around your nose. It can also be used to highlight wherever you need it! Again, it's a great product, but there's not a lot you can do with it if it's too light for you.

Overall, I'm really impressed with all three palettes. Too Faced did a good job at creating quality products and managing to fit them into compact, travel-friendly tins. If you're still unsure of which one to pick up, here's a rundown:

Boudoir Eyes: Great for creating smoky eyes or more dramatic looks. I'd buy this if I was looking for something to wear out at night, or a way to deepen and define my everyday looks. Boudoir Eyes is all about creating a sexy, dramatic eye, so I wouldn't pick it up if I was simply looking for something I could wear to work or school. It features more cool colours and would probably be most flattering on those with cool undertones.

No Makeup Makeup: I'd buy this if I was looking for a quick, easy all-over face palette. This is great to use in the mornings when you're in a rush, because everything is packaged together and it's easy to use. If you want a natural, glowing look, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up this palette. Bonus? It's easy to pop in your purse. Downsides? If it's too dark/light for your skin tone, you'll have to skip it. Also, be careful when using the powder products as you don't want them to get in the cream ones!

Note: these are available at Sephora stores for $36 US/$45 CA.

Thanks so much for reading this gigantic post on my new Too Faced goodies! I hope that this helped you out and maybe inspired you to try a new palette or eye look. Let me know which one is your favourite!
